It's happened before, we've received calls from Pennsylvania telling us about Devin L. Sunday evening we happened to get a call from the Bishop of the Ward Elder Holmes has been serving in for the last 4 months.
Bishop Weeks just wanted us to know that Elder Holmes has been a great joy to have in the ward. He shared with us the talk that Devin L. had given in church and how it brought everyone to tears. He has enjoyed getting to know Devin L. and enjoys his sense of humor.
We talked about Allen and Brianna, the two investigators that Devin L. was able to teach and later baptize. We talked about the strength that they have brought to the ward now that they are members as well.
Bishop Weeks wanted to know what some of Devin L.'s favorites were as Christmas was coming up. We chatted a bit more, said thank you for taking care of our son, and then said goodbye.
Follow up to this phone call....Monday 11/30/09
Bishop Weeks called again to let us know that Devin L. was getting transferred and that he was able to take some brownies and a couple of Slim Jim jerky sticks to him as a going away present.
Devin L. has really enjoyed serving in this ward, the members have really gone out of their way to make Devin L. feel loved, welcomed, kept fed, and a part of their ward. Thank you.
