Dear Family,
Well Ellsworth got transferred and I'm staying here in purgatory for hopefully just 1 more transfer. My new comp is Elder Allen. Seems like a pretty cool dude so far, but don't really know too much yet. Last Friday is my big story for the letter. I went on exchanges with the downtown Elders, the zone leaders area, thee ghetto...
So we drive to downtown to go contact some people and OYM (open your mouth), talk to people and right off the bat start talking and teaching people outside. I love talking to people in the city, there's ton's of people everywhere. So we're walking down an alley-way, smaller black guy with his pit-bull is walking our way, so I'm like sweet lets go teach this guy. We teach him a first, give him a Book of Mormon and set up an appointment to see him again. He's like "man I've been waitin' for this, it's like god told me to run into ya'll" Well pretty much...after that we start walking down one of the main downtown roads, talk with some people and about 100 yards away we see a huge group of about 100 people, everyone is watching from their porches, people everywhere. Then we hear a gunshot, everyone scatters, see a guy run away with blood on his face, 2 minutes later 4 cop cars come haulin' butt down the street, guns drawn and dogs runnin', they arrest some people and leave. I'm like wow that was cool, forget watching cops, just come live down here, it's funny because my companion was freakin' out the whole time, I was fairly calm. Good times....
It was a really fun and exciting exchange. So who was that guy that mom forwarded to me? Didn't realize that many people were looking at my website. Hope all is well and I love you.

A good friend of Angie from High School recently got in contact with her and saw Devin L's website. He was taking the discussions and was recently baptized. He said that he had enjoyed reading Devin L's letters.
