January 26, 2009 Dear Family, Nothing to exciting has been going on lately, we've had to drop most of our investigators and the ones we have aren't very solid. The weather has been crazy this week, one day 51, the rest under 10 degrees. I hate the East Coast! We've been tracting a lot, we ran into an old guy, he was pretty pissed. He answered the door harshley, "What yuns wants?!" we said who we were...."Well this is an unsolerciting town and leave me the hell along!" I laughed so hard, I'm like "man I wish we would have ran into this guy sooner, we've been waisting our time here in Johnstown Elder! "My companion and I just laughed and tracted on... I'm so tired of people saying they don't have time...Well I'm sorry you don't have time either, but ya know whatever, eternal salvation is no big deal.... We ran into a JW, it was quite funny, he kept babbling on about our church and asked if we would take his pamphlets, one with the tower and another with "Awake," we showed him our Restoration Pamphlet and told him we would take his if he took ours. "Oh I can't do that...." Pretty much thought well yup, Evil pretty much hides from the light of Christ and cowers in unbelief and pride. It's funny most JW's are mostly "wiser" adults that try to teach "false" deep doctrine that makes no sense to anyone that has an IQ above 4...While us 19 year old missionaries teach by the spirit and simplicity to other people! Well hopefully we can get more investigators to teach. Love lots, Elder Holmes PS Pic's & Brownies = Good times. I've always found Jehovah Witnesses interesting in how they won't take our literature. I'm impressed though how much JW tract along with missionaries. Not easy knocking on all those doors. |
