December 29, 2008
To my family, Well not much has happened since I
talked with you on Christmas day. P-day was today, not
much to do but emails, the mall, Walmart, and Phase-10. After we got back, had dinner and then
out to work the rest of the night. While we were out a
lot of negative comment were thrown, a lot of rage, anger and
heartache...All we heard for about an hour was swearing,
spitting, and yelling of how we should leave. I just
thought to myself, "Why am I even here, these people
don't even want to see the name on my tag, let alone our
message..." We continued to a returned visit that
we tracted into a few days earlier, we came to the door, the
woman answered and had us come in. We taught her the
restoration and she just stared at us...she said, "I
don't know what I'm feeling but it's something good. I
go to church but never feel anything like this." This is the reason why I'm a missionary
and out here, to invite others to come unto Christ! I
will go through all kinds of verbal torment to just be able to
teach someone. Every now and
then Heavenly Father reminds us all why we're here, sufferings
and temptations may arise but the work will always go forth! Mom, Dad, and Adam I just want to let
you know how much I love you. I pray for you every day
that all the sufferings I may have to go through here, can
bless you back home, that you can be watched over and
protected, until we meet again when my work here if
finished. I will always be praying for you. Love your son, your missionary Elder Holmes Here is a Comic that Devin L. sent with the letter: Maybe we would get some attention if we started to build an ark.
He's praying for us? We're praying for him! We're fine here we don't have to worry about doors slamming..... |
