To My Family

Last Monday we were able to go around downtown and then to McDonalds for dinner.  After we finished a lady came in wanting money for gas.  She fearfully explained that she was trying to get home to her family and was out of money.  She was extremely scared from the people that were approaching her.  Elder Sorensen had no cash and I had a $5 bill, I wasn't 100% sure if she was telling the truth or not, but she needed it more than me, but I just had to give it to her.  I didn't know if she was truthful or not but I know that I will be blessed for it.

The next day was freaking awesome, we got to ride our bikes in a small blizzard, being 28 degrees outside.  My jaws were so numb I could barely talk but we came back after tracting and had some lunch and hot cocoa.  We headed back out into the cold after and tracted for another couple hours, it was fun, people just looked at us like we were crazy, but were missionaries so we already kinda are.

On Thursday we got to do service at the food kitchen.  It was fun to see people that we've talked to before, and how their attitude changes when they see us serving them.  There's a lot of cool people out here and a lot of them are homeless and yet they are positive.

A lot happened on Friday, it snowed about 4 inches the night before and iced the sidewalks.  We tracted for about 5 hours, the snow has stopped, but there was about 15 mph winds so it just violently pushed the snow into my face, good times.

We walked over to an older members house and shoveled out her driveway and doorway.  When she answered the door she had tears in her eyes a little bit, she said she was getting over being sick.  We told her we are here to serve!  After we finished her driveway she had us come in and gave us some hot cocoa.  She then started crying again and explained that she was praying just before we had arrived, that she was in need of comfort.  I was very grateful and happy to be able to serve her in her time of need.  I know that god does answer our prayers and we missionaries are the servants that help him!

I can't wait for more snow, it's easier to tract into people when you say you want to clear their driveway, they're a little bit nicer to us.

Just yesterday as we were walking to an appointment, I found a $5 bill just sitting right in front of me.  I remembered earlier in the week when I gave $5 to the lady, I don't know if it was coincidence or Gods way of saying thank you, but I'll take the second one...

Mom, Dad, and Adam I love you so much and pray each night for protection and for Mom to have the health and strength to get better, and hope that Dad's shoulder is getting better.  Adam, your awesome, keep up with the guitar, and I love your pictures, they brighten up my day and the room!

Love ya!
