My Letters Home: November 17, 2008 - Letter

November 17, 2008

To My Family

This week has been pretty awesome, we've found 2 investigators, had Stake Conference, (which was awesome) and Elder Sorensen feel off his bike.

It's been pretty slow now that it's snowing.  Not that many people are out downtown.  I'm starting to finally get used to the sleeping schedule, so I'm not as tired.  Which is nice.  We finally got rid of the mouse!  We bought some traps and it finally got him.  It was exciting to walk in and find a dead mouse.  Reminds me of our old house, when we caught like 4 in the backyard because of the neighbor's and their dogs.

Stake Conference was pretty exciting.  President and Sister Pugh were there and gave awesome talks.  The theme of it was "Press Forward with Steadfastness in Christ," 2 Nephi 31:20.  It's amazing how Stake Conference goes by so much faster when you pay attention and take note's! hahahaha.....

While we were riding home, along the way Elder Sorensen decides to let me pass, instead hits a step, making his bike and himself flip forward.  Amazingly he lands on his feet and the bike smashes to the ground.  He bent his back tire again and broke his pedal, but no biggie... I fixed his chain and we rode home, me laughing the entire way, lol.  We've been laughing ever since.

It's fun walking at night in 32 degree weather while snowing, and in some areas it's uphill both ways!  My companion thinks it's weird that I still sweat even thought it's snowing...I'm hot! lol

Thanks for the letters, it's fun seeing Dad and his goodness when on his mission.  Can't wait to hear from you next month!

Love your Missionary,

Elder Holmes

We didn't realize he was having problem with mice.  The joys of living in an old apartment building.  Thank goodness Elder Sorensen is okay!
