My Letters Home: September 29, 2008 - Letter

September 29, 2008

To my family,

Today was a long, tiring but excited day.  After we were done flying President and Sister Pugh met us at the airport.  The country here is amazing, there's parts that are like Downtown Sacramento and then the rest is just full of green history.  They say there are gangs, which I didn't know but as well as the Amish.  They say that all the people here are nice to the missionaries.  Our AP's said that there is a Taco Bell!  I can't wait to serve the people out here, it's going to be freakin' awesome!  I can't wait to take more pictures, meet the people, and actually live the life of a missionary.  Time has gone by, already so fast, I can't believe I'm already done with the MTC!  It wasn't until now that I realized that I'm a real missionary!  Whoooaaa!  Yeeaahhhhh!

For those that don't know an AP stands for Assistant to the Mission President.  There are usually two missionaries that are called to be the Assistants to the President and help in leading and instructing the missionaries for that mission.  They usually pick up the missionaries from the airport with the president and then transfer them out to the field with a companion.  So from time to time you will see that acronym used in Devin L.'s letters.
