September 16, 2008 To my family, Well I have been able to get through the first wee and it's my P-Day. Now it's time to do my laundry, study and write to you! Yesterday at the TRC me and Elder Scott were able to teach a volunteer investigator the first lesson. The hardest part to teach for me was the first vision, the moment I start reciting the words Joseph Smith spoke I start to tear up. As of course I get it from you dad, I was able to use the power of the Holy Ghost to teach my lesson. On a more personal note, I'm doing much better, my home sickness is fading and I'm more focused on why I'm here and my purpose. Tonight we have devotional, and it might be one of the General Authorities. I'm singing in the choir and it is an amazing feeling to hear the powerful spirit of the singing MTC! Me and my companion are getting along well. His name is Zach and he looks like Connor, so it's feeling like I have my two best friends here with me. The food is good! And as we eat as a district it's great to just eat! We are having gym about four times a week and it's nice to lift weights. there is definitely a lot of "passing gas" around here, and my companion said he felt sorry for my mom...haha. Adam, I love you dearly, I bought you this bookmark so that you can remember how important it is to read your scriptures. Try not to have too much fun with my Rock Band! Mom, I know it's hard that I'm away, but know that I'm being well taken care of. And at least you don't have the moaning around, cause we are all doing it here! Ha... Dad thank you for helping me with investigator questions, it's help me out a lot while teaching. I will and have missed cycling with you. I'm glad to hear that I'll be getting some letter's from some of the members! Oh by the way, the riddle was "a coyote," the cement was just to fool you. LOL. Our Mission President told us that and thought to share it with you. I hope all is going well and I believe we will be emailing you today. Love your missionary Devin L. P.S. Isn't that a sweet bookmark. Looks like our boy is truly working hard and having fun with his District. I have no idea what he's talking about with the tearing up part.....where's a Kleenex? |
